About STXYSA

St. Croix Youth Sailing Association

The St. Croix Youth Sailing Association (STXYSA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching life skills, confidence, and teamwork through the sport of sailing.
Founded to give every youth on St. Croix access to the sea, STXYSA provides hands-on instruction, mentorship, and competition opportunities that inspire young people to challenge themselves and connect with their island community.

About STXYSA's Program

You Don’t Have To Be A Pro, You Just Have To Want To Grow.

STXYSA welcomes young sailors of all skill levels — from first-time beginners in Optis to advanced racers mastering 29ers.
What we look for isn’t perfection, it’s passion. If you’re wondering whether sailing is for you, don’t ask, “Am I good enough?” instead, ask yourself, “Am I ready to learn, to try, to keep going?”
Our sailors are self-motivated, curious, and driven to challenge themselves — on the water and in life.

Programs Designed For Your Passion And Progression

Our flexible training pathway lets sailors grow at their own pace. Start small, dream big, and take on each new class as your confidence builds.
Learn to helm your own Opti, team up in a 420, or fly across the waves in a 29er. Along the way, you’ll develop leadership, sportsmanship, and respect for the sea.
No matter where you start, there’s room for you in our fleet — and a coach ready to help you reach the next level.
Joining STXYSA means joining a crew of young, determined sailors ready to master the wind, the water, and themselves.
