Youth. First and Always.

About St. Croix Youth Sailing Association

The St. Croix Youth Sailing Association (STXYSA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to teaching life skills, confidence, & teamwork to the youth through the sport of sailing.
Founded in 2013 to give every youth on St. Croix access to the sea, STXYSA provides hands-on instruction, mentorship, and competition opportunities that inspire young people to challenge themselves and connect with their island community.
Our programs create more than sailors – they build leaders. On the water, students learn problem-solving, responsibility, and resilience. Off the water, they carry those lessons into their schools, families, and futures.
Whether learning to steer an Opti for the first time, racing 420s with teammates, or pushing limits in a 29er, STXYSA sailors grow stronger with every tack and every wave.

Our Mission:

St. Croix Youth Sailing Association is a US Virgin Islands 501c3 nonprofit organization whose goal is to give the youth of St. Croix the opportunity to sail competitively regardless of financial means.  We do that by providing access to a fleet of racing sailboats and to professional coaching at a fraction of the cost of traditional sailing clubs.
We foster the development of youth athletes that can represent the US Virgin Islands in national & international amateur sailing competitions. YSA teaches lifelong sailing skills while instilling personal responsibility, sportsmanship, teamwork and an appreciation for the marine environment.

Training Base

In 2020 we established a training base at the Chenay Bay Beach Resort.
This is where our sailors train, launch, learn, and grow—and where our program is rooted.
